The Oceanside Chamber of Commerce sponsored Harbor Days September 27 and 28th 2014
. They wanted a banner across the street. A banner like this is a special thing. The City of Oceanside wanted to put the banner up and had special requirements.
These requirements are pretty specific. Banners in the downtown area must be hung by the city (there is a charge). They must be under 100 sq. feet – that is 3 X 30 feet. They need a minimum of 8 air flaps and they need to have a nylon or wire cord running in a poll pocket at the top with at least 4 feet of extra length on both sides. The City of Oceanside only installs on Mondays and only allows 14 days to display. The banners must be dropped off and picked up at a specific location. The cost for the install is $250.
That is a lot of requirements, and there are even more. Signs for San Diego made up a couple of these banners. Here is the design (see insert) Additionally we reinforced the corners, it was double sided and we used a heavier canvas than required. Recently we have been experimenting with new materials including Tyvec.
Signs for San Diego prints a lot of banners. They find their way onto buildings, poles, and a huge range of other places. We have a half a dozen ways to mount banners. We make them is all sizes and print all sorts of messages.
We have a latex ink printer and print the most vibrant colors. Latex is water based and the newest technology. It is environmentally friendly. Cheap banners are made thinly and not hemmed. We hem each and every banner. We also press grommets in all out banners, The result is a high quality affordable banner that lasts a long time.
