Whether you are just starting a business or have owned it for years.
You know the amount of time, money and effort required to run a business is huge. Any effort with this amount of energy in it deserves a great sign. Routing your sign is very possibly the best way to achieve the results you want. At Signs for San Diego, we make letters and shapes in-house with a CNC router. This lets us focus on your needs quickly and completely.
There are 2 main parts of a CNC router
The router is like a drill, it uses a rotating bit. This rotating bit is called an “end mill”. The rotating blade cuts materials like wood, acrylic, and PVC. These materials are held down on a flat table. End mills are used in different diameters ranging from 1/8 inch or ¼ inch. The end mill is made to cut in very specific ways, a double fluted end mill is common for this purpose.
A CNC router has a work holder or table. It also has a positioning system on it. The positioning system holds the router on a “Z Head” this Z head goes up and down in an accurate way. It is on a beam that drives it from one side on the beam to the other. The beam itself is driven back and forth up and down the table.
Signs for San Diego uses this “Overhead Gantry System”. It can move anywhere on the table at any depth. This means we can cut any shape on this table.
We take your design program to the CNC router, We set the speed of the bit, and the motion, the path and hit Go. The Z head dropped into the material cutting a hole. From there the X Y movement starts and cuts a path in the material
CNC router cut woodwork, plastics fabrication, engraving, prototyping and industrial millwork. CNC routers are a very valuable tool to fabricate parts and pieces for a number of products.
