If you are in “start up” mode for a new business you need to have these 4 signs as soon as possible. “Signs for San Diego” helps new businesses all the time. The trick is to bring in sales and to do that, you must tell your future customers the “who, what, where, how and why” for your company. This all starts with signage. You need to start working the marketing “engine” by having these 4 types of signs working for you. This checklist gives you the insight into what is required:
- Building Signs – Let customers find you and gradually realize you’re a “fixture” in your location. Mark your location with a building sign – It brands your business, but it also tells people where they can find you. It is done with a building sign. Building signs are doing at least 2 things: A. You need this or you will loss 2/3 of the people visiting you. They just give up before they find you unless you have a building sign. B. Your future best customers are either visiting your neighbors or driving past you on their way to somewhere. Your building sign does not “snap” these future customers into a sale – the Buildingsign creates a growing awareness of you and your products. They gradually relate the location, the name and the product or service with you. The day they need what you sell – it dawns on them – You’re the source. You need to get this sign up now, because delay results in delayed sales.
- Lobby Signs, The Lobby Sign is the first thing a customer sees when they walk is. It is thecompany’s impression as they wait for you to great them. It is what they see as you are explaining what your company does. It is creating a strong impression and a first impression. If the Lobby Sign is a high quality sign with the correct visual queues it helps justify the sale, justifies the premium price and creates a favorable impression that helps the customer to visualize what you will do for them.
- Window Lettering Window Lettering, Cut Vinyl or window graphics has several powerful attributes: A. It is normally right in front and right in the path of the customer. This central location is some of your most powerful advertising area B. It is cheap! Why? You do not buy the base of the sign – that is the glass. All you are purchasing is the lettering and the labor to put it up. It is extremely cost effective. Not using this space is a huge mistake, it gives you a powerful “Bang for the buck"
- Vehicle Graphics Car wraps, Box Truck graphics, van lettering or other ways – this is a high impact form of advertising. Unlike building signs, there is no permitting process, there are few rules and this is a mobile billboard. In Southern California on I-78, the I-5 and other roads it is very possible to get 50,000 “views” a day with vehicle graphics. Even better these “views” are on your normal commuting path, in the parking lots and drive ways where your future customers are. While the most conservative businesses (lawyers, doctors and CPAs…oh, if you drive like a maniac, this form of advertising will not help your business or your driving record) are not ready for this, the trades, retail, distribution, and just about everybody else should be using vehicle graphics – it simple makes the phone ring.
